Innokas Medical was granted funding by the European Commission for the development of Otivio's FlowOxTM system that is used for home treatment of peripheral arterial disease The European Commission has granted Innokas Medical almost €700 000 of funding. The funding was granted to Innokas from the Horizons 2020 Fast Track to Innovation (FTI) pilot, which provides funding for bottom-up proposals for close-to-market innovation activities in any area of technology or application, and the aim is to reduce time from idea to market.

Finnish expertise on business internationalisation is now under one roof. The Team Finland House is officially open. The house brings together all Finnish state-funded internationalisation services, including Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation Tekes, Finnvera and Finpro. As of today, the three organisations share a common office in Helsinki, Finland.

Finnish Health Tech Embassy held official opening in Odense Denmark in June. Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen and Ambassador Ann-Marie Nyroos were cutting the red ribbons and both were very positive about this new way of working together and supporting innovation and technology cooperation. Finnish Tech Embassy is a living-lab and showroom hosting at the moment the high-quality offering of 10 Finnish companies for the buyers and professionals on the Danish public sector. Main goal of the Health Tech Embassy is to showcase the Finnish products and solutions and make them visible for the decision-makers on the market.

A research paper about tissue-identifying smart needle in lumbar puncture has been published on August 4th, 2016 by Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing. The clinical research was conducted with adult patients in three hospitals in Tampere region, Finland.

Injeq announced in June that the clinical medical device trial "Identification of Liver Tumors Using IQ Biopsy System" has started with first patients enrolled. The trial aims to validate real-time tissue identification capabilities of the novel core needle biopsy system.
